Are Rieker Shoes Waterproof?

Some Rieker styles are designed with wet weather in mind. Others are everyday shoes without a waterproof claim. That’s why the answer depends on the exact pair you’re looking at.

Look for an explicit waterproof feature or named membrane in the product description. A leather upper, a boot shape or a sturdy-looking sole does not by itself confirm that a shoe will keep water out. Colour variants and older versions can have different details, so check the listing you’re buying.

Think about water entering from above

Even where a low shoe has waterproof construction, rain can get in over the collar. If you often walk through long wet grass or deeper puddles, the height of the shoe matters as well as its upper. Tread and grip are separate considerations, and care is still needed on slick surfaces.
